Changes: removed everything related to Google Reader.. :)

Digital Photography

A very interesting article on the "full frame" debate. I couldn't agree more with the author.

Photo Software

I've got two sites where I put my pics, both google of course:

Software I use for importing and managing pictures are:

    • DigiKam for importing from the camera, managing, creating HTML, putting comments, etc. The latest version 0.9 seems like a major evolution with 16 bits handling, many many plugins (raw conversion, lens distortion, etc.) and the ability to set tags and comments directly inside the pictures in the standard EXIF/IPTC fields instead of inside an SQL database (non interoperable of course). I'm eagerly waiting for Ubuntu Feisty to try it and might even try to recompile the whole KDE worls just to get it!!! :-)
  • Picasa (Linux version) for viewing slideshows, and slight enhancements before printing, and publishing to picasaweb (awesome easy-to-use features!)
  • GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program for heavy work (removing noise, raw conversion, etc.)

Google Products I am using

Like my son would say (talking about his prefered vanilla cream brand), "If it's not 100% Google, I don't want to use it!" :-). Anyway, among all the Google services that are available, I am already a fan of a couple (?) of them:

More to come, I imagine, knowing that they make an announcement every other day...
